Bayfest is a North Wales based music festival which takes place at Cemaes Bay, a small village on the north tip of
Anglesey. Bayfest needed distinctive Identity and branding design which would help visually articulate its unique
ethos and location.

Inspired by the book ‘The Art of Looking Sideways’, by Alan Fletcher. This piece uses appropriate imagery and
typography to reflect the content, location and nature of Bayfest without resorting to pastiche. The torn brown paper
serves as an abstract depiction of Wales and Anglesey. The festival's logo is deliberately placed in position on the
poster where it subtly points out the geographic location of the event.
BADGES AND T-SHIRT:...............................................................................................................................................
These souvenir badges and T-Shirt combine scenic photographs of Cemaes Bay along with an abstract logo identity
I developed for the festival. The logo’s circles are used to represent vinyl records and music, while the triangle and
surf board shapes are used to represent the nearby beach and camping.
